ThermoDie™ Infrared Heat Controller
The ThermoDie™ Infrared Heat Controller uses a non-contact heat sensor to accurately hold surface die temperature to +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Using Programmable Internal Digital software, our controller offers the user the ability to reproduce accurate seals over and over without temperature overshoot. Used extensively in heat-sealing applications, this highly accurate heat controller uses 110-volt electrical current and is easily moved from machine to machine.
Solid-state components offer years of service with extremely high accuracy. The unit comes complete with rotary coupling, heat cartridge, instructions and 1-year warranty.
Qwik Score™ Lineal Scoring Module
Don't have enough stations in your press? Can't underscore because your anvils are not removable? Midway Engravers has the answer. The Quik Score™ Lineal Scoring Module can be put almost anywhere in your press without using up any of your precious die stations.
Midway’s unique tool steel blades allow the converter to cut either metal to metal or to liner with the same unit. Fine thread blade adjusters allow precise cutting depth adjustment for any application. Fully adjustable from side to side the module comes complete with frame, 2 cutting heads and all mounting hardware required.
Easily installed in about 1 hour, the module will not interfere with normal press operation. Use the Qwik Score™ module only when needed, bypassing the module when not required. It’s like an additional die station on demand.
Digital & Hydraulic Bearer Loading Modules
Many older presses do not come equipped with gauges for monitoring die pressure. Our precision digital load cells can be adapted to any press and are portable enough to move from station to station.
Digital Electronic Pressure Monitor
Electronic pressure transducers used in Midway’s Digital Electronic Pressure Monitor offer high accuracy pressure readings through digital readouts. Since the transducers rest on the pressure bar (assist roll) located under the pressure screws, the pressure reading is the actual psi being applied to the bearer surfaces of the die. Running tooling at the lowest necessary cutting pressure reduces stress on the die, gears and anvil, thus extending die life in increasing profitability.
Also, the readouts show real-time pressure allowing the operator to monitor the tool during the press run. By recording the final pressure used at the end of a run, the operator knows exactly where to begin the next time the job is set up. This reduces valuable setup time, increasing press efficiency and lowering costs.
Each unit is completely portable and may be moved from press to press, station to station. Because the monitor design is universal and not press specific, the Midway monitor offers great flexibility. The monitor can continue to be used with future equipment purchases as older equipment is retired.
Hydraulic Pressure Gauges
For extremely dirty environments or for applications that require a more permanent set up, our hydraulic pressure monitors fit the bill. Since the hydraulic system requires an entire gauge set and cross bar, each set is manufactured to existing press specifications. Hydraulic gauges apply pressure directly over the bearers of the tool to insure proper location of the load.
Printing Cylinders
Feather Lite™ Hollow Cylinders
Midway manufactures a complete line of printing cylinders, including sleeve type, ball bearing, integral (shaft in type) and Feather Lite™ hollow cylinders for wide web and large repeat presses. Each cylinder is turned to an exacting tolerance of .0005" TIR for precision print quality.
Ball Bearing Style
When used in four-color process printing, the entire set of cylinders will not vary more than .001" from the largest to smallest diameter. Each cylinder is quality inspected for accuracy and scribed with lineal and cross lines for accurate plate mounting whether mounted by hand or by machine. Cylinder undercuts conform to any range of sticky back foam, including .015" standard foam, .020 cushion foam and any alternative available.
Integral Style w/Mounting Shafts
Cylinders may be ordered with AGMA 10 precision gears for high accuracy repeat lengths. Higher quality gears improve print quality by minimizing "scuffing" of the plate against the web due to gear error. These are a must when printing process work.
Moss™ Type Cylinders for Sleeve Mounting
Midway also produces cylinders drilled for the air mount "Moss" type printing sleeves. Proper placement of air holes makes mounting sleeve type plates as easy as 1 – 2 – 3.
Flat Bed Reciprocating Dies
Midway offers the same high quality tool steel used in our rotary dies for flat die configurations. For applications requiring the accuracy of engraved tooling and the durability of tool steel, Midway will manufacture flat dies for a large range of presses.
Flat die tooling from Midway can incorporate all of the advantages of ejection, deep routing, multi-level cutting, "invisible" perforation, and any other requirement that is needed to perform the job. Used in Markem presses for high accuracy special shapes requiring extended production, Midway flat tooling is an exceptional value.
