Journal Blocks (Bearing Blocks)

Worn journal blocks will create cutting problems. While often overlooked, bearing blocks that are loose in the press frames or have poor quality bronze bushings reduce die life and cut quality. Midway manufactures bearing blocks that utilize high quality needle bearings for longer, more accurate life.

We will recondition, if possible, existing bearing blocks and/or convert bronze bushing type bearing blocks to use needle bearings. The inferior bronze bushing is only as good as it will be when new. The rapid deterioration of bronze bushings in terms of out-of-round and bore over sizing makes the switch to needle bearings a must.
